A Day on the Water - Private Sailing Experience

Entirely private to guests of [Our Partner]

Step aboard your luxury sailing yacht and spend a relaxed day exploring the Fal Estuary and Falmouth Bay. Glide past historic castles, iconic lighthouses, and the lush Cornish coastline while your crew attends to every detail. Whether you choose to relax on deck, take the helm, or simply soak in the views, every moment is curated for style, comfort, and complete peace of mind.

  • Everything you need to know before stepping aboard.
Guests may arrive at the marina independently or enjoy collection from a nearby hotel. Boarding begins at 09:45 for a 10:00 departure.

    What to bring:

    • Comfortable layers and non-slip shoes

    • Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen)

    • Optional camera or binoculars

    • We provide waterproof jackets, life jackets, and blankets for all ages

Our crew will welcome you aboard, introduce the yacht, and explain the day ahead. No previous sailing experience is required.

  • We leave the shelter of Falmouth’s inner harbour under sail and pick up pace towards Flushing and the former homes of the Packet Ship Captains.

Taking a closer course to windward, we make way to Carrick Roads. During the mid-1800s, at the height of its activity, it was not uncommon to see as many as 350 ocean-going sailing ships at anchor here. You can see Falmouth, St Mawes and Trelissick House, all from the sand beige deck of Silvio as we sail along.

Tacking though the wind is a great opportunity to try your hand at the lines and experience sailing at its best. After a two hour sail we arrive at Great Molunan anchorage on the Roseland for lunch.

‍ ‍Note: every day is different and no one sailing is the same. Due to differences in daily wind angle and force, we take the most suitable itinerary for your pleasure and comfort.

  • Gourmet cuisine prepared with care, served with stunning views.

    Our Seasonal Philosophy

In partnership with [OUR PARTNER], our menus are led by the natural rhythm of local sourcing - Cornish farms, fields and waters - and crafted simply to elevate the best of what the region has to offer.

    Market Fish Bagel

Artisan bagel with locally caught cured mackerel or Scottish salmon (chosen daily), lemon zest and fresh dill.
Served with crisp gem lettuce, lightly pickled cucumber and a vibrant seasonal Cornish salad - a generous mix of the day’s best greens and vegetables dressed well.

Whipped Feta & Roasted Vegetables (V)

Artisan bagel layered with whipped feta and slow-roasted seasonal vegetables, finished with peppery rocket and cracked black pepper.
Accompanied by the same large seasonal Cornish salad, showcasing what’s freshest from the market.

    For Younger Guests

A classic ham and cheese bagel, prepared with care and served with fresh vegetables on the side.

    Dietary Considerations

Gluten-free options are available upon request.
For any specialist dietary requirements, please speak with our crew in advance - we’re happy to accommodate wherever possible.

  • Relax, reflect, and take in the Cornish coast.
After lunch, the yacht continues along scenic waters.

As we leave Great Molunan anchorage on the Roseland we sail between St Mawes Castle and Pendennis Castle which stand guard on opposite headlands out into Falmouth Bay and wide open skies.

A great opportunity to practice you taking skills, if that’s to your liking.

Tea, Coffee, and biscuits are available throughout the afternoon.

On the return you will have a moment to savor the tranquillity, salt air, and the unique pleasure of Cornish waters.

  • We return to the marina by approximately 1600. Guests may disembark independently or enjoy the obligatory post sail pint, in the famous Chain Locker, just as Robin Knox-Johnston did after his solo round-the-world voyage.

Your sailing experience ends with a new perspective and appreciation for Falmouth’s delightful estuary.

Confirm Booking
  • Is this experience suitable for first‑time sailors?

Yes, absolutely. You do not need any prior sailing experience. Your crew are professional and attentive, and will guide you through every part of the day. Whether you choose to be hands‑on or simply relax, the pace and involvement are entirely yours.

Do we need to be fit or agile to take part?

Mind the gap! You must be comfortable with a step of 30cm to board the vessel. Crew naturally assist with this and arrangements can be made in special circumstances. Normal levels of mobility are all that’s needed. You’ll be briefed on safe movement on deck and comfortable areas to enjoy the day. Our focus is on your comfort and confidence from start to finish.

    Can children come aboard?

Yes, children are warmly welcomed above the age of five. With child life jackets of the appropriate size provided, and we’ll guide you on how best to keep little ones comfortable and safe. Parents can relax knowing we prioritise safety without taking away from the enjoyment of the day.

What should we bring for the day?

For your comfort and enjoyment, we recommend:

    • Comfortable layers (it can be breezy on deck)

    • Non‑slip shoes (soft soles work best)

    • Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen)

    • Camera or binoculars (optional)

We provide waterproof jackets, blankets, life jackets, and all necessary safety gear, all designed so you arrive relaxed and ready to enjoy the experience.

    What if someone gets seasick?

Although we sail exclusively in sheltered waters, and Silvio is a 16‑ton yacht with exceptional stability for her class, some guests may still experience mild seasickness, as everyone reacts differently. This is uncommon, but entirely normal.

If you are concerned or know you are prone to motion sickness, we recommend taking a Stéronon motion sickness tablet about an hour before arrival, or simply ask a crew member.

    Is it safe?

Our yacht and crew are fully equipped, certified and annually inspected by representatives from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, and all medical or dietary information you share is handled confidentially and passed to the Captain to ensure the smoothest possible day.

Can you cater to dietary needs?

Yes, we’re pleased to offer gluten‑free and other dietary options with advance notice. Please let us know your requirements when booking so we can prepare your lunch to suit you perfectly.

What happens if the weather isn’t perfect?

Cornish weather is changeable, but we sail exclusively in sheltered waters. There is comfortable below‑deck space if you wish to take a moment out of the wind, and while rain may occur, it only enhances the drama of the coastline, there is truly no bad weather, only inappropriate clothing.

Silvio is a thoroughly energetic, sporty, and responsive yacht, designed to perform beautifully in all conditions. The experience remains engaging and enjoyable whether the sun is shining or the coast is misted with Cornish mystery.

Will we have toilets and refreshments on board?

Yes, there are discreet, fully serviced onboard facilities, and we provide tea, coffee, and biscuits throughout the day. Lunch is served at a relaxing pace during our midday anchorage.

How flexible is the day? Can we relax or take part?

For the seasoned sailor eager to explore Silvio’s full capabilities, the captain welcomes you to take the helm, trim the sheets, and be part of every moment of the action. Yet if you prefer to simply relax and reflect, there is absolutely no expectation to participate, you may enjoy her effortless communication with the natural world Silvio inhabits; there is no requirement to do anything but relax.
