2024 Restoration

Silvio had been in the care of the Boscawen family for nearly 65 years, a rare continuity in the world of private yachts. When the time came for her to pass to new hands, it was not done lightly. Her next custodian was carefully chosen. A full restoration schedule was submitted and approved, not as a formality, but as a gesture of respect for the family and for her history.

After being laid up ashore since 2017, Silvio began her restoration in April 2024.

A full ultrasonic hull survey was carried out at six-inch intervals, guiding the careful replacement of a steel plate. Where material was renewed, it was done to match the original thickness, a direct continuation of Robert Clark’s intentions. Any relevant works were isolated, limited in scope, and the some of the starboard side deck was also replaced. The coach house roof and deck repainted in sand beige and a international white, a return to her clean, apt aesthetic.

Silvio was relaunched in under a year on 3 March 2025.
